Centreville is an unincorporated community in Fairfax County, Virginia. The community population was approximately 49,000 as of the 2000 census. It is approximately 20 miles west of Washington, D.C. Centreville has two middle schools, Liberty and Stone Middle, and two high schools, Centreville High School and Westfield High School.
Centreville is loaded with Civil Was history. It was fortified by the Confederacy and served as a supply depot for both sides at various points in the war. In recent times, Centreville has become a suburb of Washington, D.C. Now it is quite a typical wealthy American suburb comprised of luxury townhomes, strip malls, a movie theater and large housing developments.
