Vienna is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia. The population was approximately 15,000 at the 2000 census. It is located on State Route 123(Chain Bridge Road/Maple Avenue) and adjoins Tysons Corner, Reston, Oakton, and Dunn Loring.

Vienna was founded in 1754 and is one of Virginia’s oldest towns. It is one of Northern Virginia’s special communities which has maintained its distinctive small town friendliness, community spirit and widely cherished traditional values.

Vienna is well-known for its special events including its annual Fourth of July celebration, its Halloween Parade, its annual ViVa! Vienna Town Festival and its Holiday Stroll ending with children being greeted by Santa Claus at the Freeman House.

Visitors enjoy the hometown atmosphere of Maple Avenue bustling with specialty shops, numerous restaurants, family run businesses and stores. The Town of Vienna advertises there is something for everyone.

Vienna is home to James Madison High School, Thoreau Middle School, and many elementary schools. The music program at James Madison High School boasts an award-winning marching band and color guard, two symphonic bands, a jazz band, an orchestra, and a chorus.

Vienna is the home of the well-known Vienna Little League, the Greater Vienna Babe Ruth League, Vienna Youth Inc.’s recreational sports leagues and the Vienna Youth Soccer.
